Our Venue

Chief Hosa Lodge is a historic stone-and-timber lodge tucked into the foothills just outside Golden, Colorado, with sweeping views of the Continental Divide and the surrounding forests. Built in 1918 and designed to blend into the hillside, it has a cozy fireplaces, exposed beams, and a spacious patio that’s perfect for sunset ceremonies. It’s a true rustic Colorado mountain lodge, which makes it an incredibly special place for us to celebrate with you.

Transportation

We will be providing a shuttle between the hotel and Chief Hosa Lodge so you don’t have to worry about mountain driving or parking. The shuttle will take guests from the hotel to the lodge before the ceremony and will bring everyone back to the hotel at the end of the night. We strongly encourage guests to use the shuttle, especially with the winding roads and changing weather at 7,600 feet.

If you prefer to drive yourself, there is parking available at Chief Hosa Lodge. Please keep in mind that the lodge is located in the mountains, with curving roads and the potential for snow or changing weather in May. If conditions are snowy or icy, we recommend giving yourself extra travel time and driving a vehicle that handles well in mountain conditions.

Dress Code & Weather

Our dress code is semi-formal, but above all we want you to be comfortable. The Chief Hosa Lodge is located in Genesee Park near Golden, Colorado at about 7,600 feet in elevation.

In May, temperatures can range from around 40°-70°F during the day to about 36°F in the evening, and mountain weather can change quickly. Snow or inclement weather is always a possibility in the Rockies, even in late spring. We recommend layers and practical shoes!

Questions & Answers

Can I bring a plus-one?

Yes, you are welcome to bring a plus-one. Just make sure to indicate this on your RSVP form so we can plan accordingly.

Yes, kids are welcome to attend. We will be providing some kid-friendly activities (think Beer Pong and Rage Cage – Just kidding) to keep them entertained.

We ask that you NOT take photos during the ceremony. We encourage you to take photos of everything else, and ask that if you snap a good one to share it with us!

The venue will be open at 4:00pm for guests to arrive and join us for cocktails prior to the ceremony. Seating for the ceremony will begin at 4:45pm. Ceremony will start at 5:00pm

Yes, we will be having an open bar. We want everyone to be safe. This venue is at elevation, and alcohol can feel a bit stronger. If you are intoxicated and plan on driving, know that we will take your keys and feed them to a bear in the area. Bears on average take around 24-36 hours to pass a pair of car keys, which will give you ample time to sober up.
